Quick start start from a layout
A worked SPECT/CT example to explore the controls. Clear it any time with Clear all.
Sets the grid, labels and colorbars as a starting point — your loaded images are kept where they still fit. Save as template… adds the layout to the list and downloads a portable .json you can Import… again later or share with collaborators.

About MOSAIC
MOSAIC — the Publication Figure Composer — turns the PET / SPECT / CT
screenshots you've already exported (from MIRA, 3D Slicer or any viewer)
into clean, publication-ready figures — all in your browser. It arranges and labels your
images; it doesn't re-process them.
MOSAIC stands for Multi-panel Overlay & Screenshot Arrangement for Imaging Composites.
Quick start
Set the number of rows and columns, then drag your images onto the grid (or use Load images).
Add labels, a colorbar, and annotations to taste.
Export at journal size as PNG or TIFF (raster), or SVG or PDF (vector — text stays sharp).
Annotations
Click a panel to add the selected shape; drag the dots to position it.
Click an item in the list to edit its text, color and style.
Ctrl/Cmd+Z undo · Delete remove · Esc deselect.
Good to know
Columns can be time points — or anything else (dose, group, genotype). For non-time figures, hide the column labels or axis title in the Columns section.
Panel letters (A, B, C…) and an optional figure legend are added automatically and included in every export.
Colormaps are grouped; the perceptually-uniform / colorblind-safe set (Viridis, Inferno, Magma…) is recommended. Match the colorbar min/max to your viewer.
Your work autosaves to this browser and can be recovered after an accidental close. Use Save project for a portable file.
Where templates are stored
Built-in templates are part of MOSAIC and always available.
Save as template… does two things: it adds the layout to the list (remembered in this browser for quick reuse) and downloads a portable .mosaic-template.json — the durable, shareable copy. Templates remembered in the browser are cleared if you clear site data, so keep the downloaded file as your backup.
Import… loads a .json and adds it to the list — use it to bring a template back later or share it with a collaborator.
Downloads go to your browser's usual download location. To choose where each file is saved, turn on Chrome's Settings → Downloads → "Ask where to save each file before downloading."
Privacy
Everything runs locally — your images never leave your computer.
